Let us take you on a journey through the Bernau high valley. It is located near the Feldberg in the southern Black Forest. At an altitude of 900 meters, the ten small districts of Bernau nestle in the eight-kilometer-long valley, surrounded only by meadows, forests and pastures. Bernau’s local mountain, the Herzogenhorn, rises up to 1415 meters and is also the highest peak in the Waldshut district.
The village between Furtwangen and Triberg is the birthplace of the cuckoo clock. It is aptly named: Schönwald presents itself in a wide clearing surrounded by wooded mountains. Incidentally, this is the source of the Triberg waterfall. Away from the main road, there are pretty Black Forest houses, cafés, a spacious spa park and a solar-heated outdoor pool.
